    iFundWomen is a crowdfunding ecosystem designed for female entrepreneurs.

    A low risk, efficient path to getting your startup, small business, nonprofit or side hustle off the ground.
     
    Crowdfunding is when you raise small increments of money from lots of people that you know that adds up to just enough money to reach a specific goal. In other words, you are going out and selling your product or your service to people who want to buy it and those people are coming directly from your own network.

  • Who is Allowed To Crowdfund On iFundWomen?
    All entrepreneurs regardless of gender identification are welcome to crowdfund on iFundWomen. You must be at least 18 years old to start a campaign. For more details, check out our Terms of Use.
  • Are There Any Campaigns That Are Prohibited on iFundWomen?
    Campaigns on iFundWomen may not be created for illegal activities, to cause harm to people or property, or to scam others. It is the sole responsibility and exclusive liability of the campaign owner to comply with all applicable laws and regulations in connection with their campaigns, and not to make any false or misleading statements in connection with their campaign.

  • Does iFundWomen Vet Campaigns?
    Yes, we vet for legitimacy of the campaign owner. We require that every campaign owner have a digital presence that legitimizes what they say they are doing in their campaign.
     
    All campaigns must be compliant with our Terms of Use.
  • What Are Coaches Tips?
    iFundWomen offers free, expert crowdfunding coaching tools and resources to every entrepreneur on our platform. When your backers contribute to your campaign, they will be given the option to generously include a tip upon checkout.
     
    These additional funds directly support our coaching program, helping us get closer to closing the funding gap for female entrepreneurs.
  • In What Countries Are iFundWomen Campaigns Supported?

  • What Does Flexible Crowdfunding Mean?
    • Keep what you raise: iFundWomen is a flexible crowdfunding platform which allows you to keep what you raise vs. other platforms where it’s all-or-nothing.
    • Extend your campaign: Because life happens and we understand the needs of our entrepreneurs, our platform allows you to adjust your campaign dates, if needed.
    • Immediate access to the money you’ve raised: As you raise funds through your campaign, the money is automatically deposited into the bank account you used to set up your campaign. You can adjust your deposit time frame within both Stripe and Paypal. Expect your first deposit roughly 5-10 business days after your first contribution.
  • What is Crowdfunding Coaching and Why Is It Important?
    Crowdfunding coaching is a critical component to a successful campaign. If you have never crowdfunded before, the whole process can seem overwhelming. Crowdfunding coaching teaches you how to use our numbers-based strategy in order to get your campaign funded.
     
    iFundWomen has developed a proprietary coaching program, The iFundWomen Method, that guides entrepreneurs through pitch honing, network mapping, rewards strategy, creative production, and perhaps the most important piece of all - crowdfunding accountability.   • Who Will Fund My Project?
    The majority of your funders can be broken down into two segments:
     
    1. Your FFF’s: Your friends, family, and followers - the people in your life who know and love you
    2. Your existing and potential customers - the market your product or service is serving.
     
    It’s important to remember that there are no magical money elves just waiting to sprinkle cash on your campaign. You have to put in the work, and map out your network properly before launching your campaign if you to succeed at crowdfunding.   • How Do I Receive Funds?
    You receive funds through our payment processors Stripe and PayPal. You must connect to one or both of these platforms in order to receive funds. Fun Fact: iFundWomen is the only crowdfunding platform to offer PayPal One-Touch to backers at checkout!
     
    Stripe
     
    If you have an existing Stripe account, we recommend you use a different account for your campaign. This will make it easier to track the funds you raise on iFundWomen. Learn more about Stripe and sign up for an account here.
     
    PayPal
     
    You must have a PayPal Business Account to use PayPal on iFundWomen. Learn more about PayPal and sign up for an account here.
  • When Will I Receive Funds?
    iFundWomen is a flexible crowdfunding platform. That means, you can receive funds as soon as they are processed on your campaign page. It typically takes between 5-10 business days to receive your first deposit into your bank account from Stripe and PayPal.
  • What Are iFundWomen's Fees?
    We take a 5% standard crowdfunding fee on the funds you raise.
     
    Credit Card Processing:
     
    • Stripe: Stripe's fees are approximately 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction. For more info click here.
    • PayPal (US): PayPal's fees are approximately 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction; 4.4% per international transaction
    • *Discounts available for eligible charities

  • How Should I Think About Taxes?
    We are not tax professionals, however income from your crowdfunding campaign may be subject to income taxes, so please check with a tax professional to make sure your bases are covered.
  • How Long Does iFundWomen Take to Approve a Project?
    On business days, campaigns are approved within 24 hours.
  • How Much Time Should I Spend Prepping For My Campaign?
    You should give yourself at least six (6) weeks to prepare for your campaign prior to launch.
     
    You will need sufficient time to strategically plan your crowdfund including creating a short pitch video, designing your project page, building up your network, and pre-selling your rewards to supporters who will back your campaign within the first 24-48 hours.

  • How Long Should My Campaign Run For?
    Shorter is better! The recommended length of a rewards-based crowdfunding campaign is 30-45 days.
  • What's Incognito Mode?
    "Incognito Mode" allows you to launch your campaign in "stealth-mode." Your campaign will be published under a private link that allows you to start crowdfunding a week before your campaign goes live. This can help you get early backers on board before your launch date and propel momentum for your campaign.
  • Can I Extend My Campaign?
    Yes!
     
    We built iFundWomen to be flexible, to meet the specific needs of new businesses, so you can extend your campaign if you need more time or if you want to keep raising money. That said, the data shows that the most successful campaigns run for 30 days only.
  • How Do I Set My Goal?
    The worst mistake anyone can make when planning their crowdfunding campaign is to pick a goal amount out of thin air.
     
    Crowdfunding is when you sell your products, services, and mission to people that you know, who want to buy into it. Therefore, you should only set your goal after you’ve used the iFundWomen Method Playbook. Spoiler alert: You should set your goal based on the price of the rewards you are selling and how many people you think you can sell them to.
     
    You should factor all taxes and fees into your fundraising goal.

  • What Happens If I Don't Hit My Goal?
    iFundWomen offers flexible funding, which means you keep what you raise, whether or not you reach your goal amount.
     
    Regardless if you hit your goal or not, you are expected to deliver on your campaign rewards that your backers purchased.
  • What Are Rewards?
    Rewards are incentives to get people to fund your project.
     
    Humans love stuff — tangible stuff that rewards us for good behavior. The research show that rewards increase contribution amounts from your funders.
     
    Whether you have a product or service-based business, there are plenty of ways to get creative and build rewards that will satisfy everyone in your network.
     
    Here are the rewards that drive the most dollars:
    • An exclusive pre-order of your product, at a discounted rate
    • Selling your "side-hustle" services at a discounted rate, such as video production, blog writing, graphic design, babysitting, dog walking, book keeping, potion mixing
    • Branded merchandise like notebooks, mugs, tote bags, or apparel
  • What Is The Best Time Of Year To Run A Crowdfunding Campaign?
    There is no specific time of year that’s best for crowdfunding. The best time to crowdfund is after you’ve done the prep work, also known as the iFundWomen Method, to set yourself up for success.

  • How Do I See Who Supported My Campaign?
    It’s easy to see who supported your campaign! Simply look on your campaign page on the “backer” tab or download a “backer report” from your dashboard.
  • What Do I Do If Backers Don't Put Their Address In At Checkout?
    Know this: it’s normal. Backers tend to check out fast on iFundWomen, and often skip over where they can enter their address. The best way to get all of your backers addresses, or tee shirt sizes, etc, is to send out a survey when your campaign is over and get the info.

  • Can I Run Two Campaigns At Once?
    We do not recommend running two crowdfunding campaigns at the same time. In order to succeed at crowdfunding, you need to dedicate your time and energy to one campaign and have a clear, simple ask for your network.
  • Do I Need A Video For My Campaign?
    Technically, no, but campaigns with a video raise exponentially more money than those who don’t have a video. Why?
     
    1. Having a video engenders trust with your audience - people want to see the face of the person they are investing in.
    2. Video is the best way to tell your story. Research shows that viewers retain 95% of the messaging delivered through video as oppose to 10% when they see it in text aka video works!

  • I'm Having Trouble Making a Contribution
    Contribution troubles are most frequently caused by errors with the credit card used.  Try the following steps:
     
    • Confirm you have entered all of the credit card information correctly including your name, credit card number, expiration date, code and zip code.
    • Call your bank to ensure your card is in good standing and inform that that you are trying to support a project.
    • Try using another credit card.
     
    If this doesn’t work, try some of these other quick fixes.
     
    • Clear your browser cache to delete any previously stored versions of the site
    • Use an incognito browser and try again

  • What Do I Do If I Haven't Received My Reward?
    Receiving your reward is so much fun, so we want to make sure that happens. The following are the most common reasons you may not have received your reward yet:
     
    1. The campaign owner is missing your address. No worries! Sign in and add your address in here.
    2. The rewards aren’t supposed to be shipped yet. Check the campaign that you purchased from to see when the campaign owner said they are shipping rewards out.
     
    If all else fails, please reach out to the campaign owner via their website or social media. If you can’t reach the campaign owner, please email us and we will try to connect you.
  • Can I Get A Refund?
    Keep in mind that supporting a project on iFundWomen is supporting a business or service that may be delivered at a later date. Once a contribution is made, the charge to the backer is non-refundable via iFundWomen. All refunds are the responsibility of the campaign creator and at the creators discretion.
  • I Supported A Campaign, But Now I've Changed My Mind. Can I Get My Money Back?
    Once a contribution is made, the charge to the backer is non-refundable via iFundWomen, however, the Campaign Owner reserves the right to refund the money directly back to the backer, through a different payment mechanism that does not reside on the iFundWomen website.
  • Does iFundWomen Keep My Financial Information Safe?
    iFundWomen does not store credit card numbers.  Our payment processors, PayPal and Stripe operate with the highest level of security and encryption technology.
     
    When backing a project using PayPal, the recipient won't receive sensitive financial information like your credit card or bank account number. This way, you don't have to worry about paying people you don't know.  You can read more about PayPal’s safety guidelines here .
